New!! Car!! Very!! Excited!!

Let me preface this with saying I am not bragging. I am just super excited and want to share my good news with the people I love...

For a while now I have been contemplating buying a car. As much as I love my Toyota 4 Runner, the gas mileage is not so great. I knew SUVs were known for having bad gas mileage but when I bought it, I bought it because I my Passat had gotten into some high water, messed up the engine, and so I was frustrated and wanted a vehicle higher off the ground. Well now I am tired of filling up my gas tank all the time and paying so much money for gas. Yes, we do plan on having children so when I went shopping for a new car that was one of my questions...can a car seat fit in the backseat easily without moving the seats up.

So yesterday I drove down to Fort Worth to pick up Lillie Bear. She's been in "dog heaven" with my parents for the past couple of weeks and it was time for her to come home. I got down there really early so I decided to go look at all the car lots off of 820/30. For a while now I have seen the Honda Accords and have just loved them. When I first saw one I thought it was a BMW. I couldn't believe it was a Honda Accord. So I stopped in and immediately told the guy I wasn't going to buy a car but that I wanted to see if a Honda Accord was even the size of car I would like to drive. I was honestly wanting to just sit in the car so I could be like, "Yep, that's what I thought, this car is too small." Then I would be finished day dreaming about it and just go on with my life. WELL...I sat in the car (front, back, all 4 spots) and this car is extremely roomy!!! Then I was thinking, "Well, the trunk is probably small so that will be a deal breaker." The salesman, David, opened the trunk and WOW...I swear it has the same amount of space as my 4 Runner. So, heck! What was my argument now for NOT buying this car? I didn't have one. On top of that, it gets 30mpg highway compared to my 21mpg highway on my 4 Runner. It also has a 6 disc CD player...woohoo!!! The thing it has the most that I absolutely love...A SUNROOF!!! Most of my cars have always had one but when I bought my 4 Runner I thought I wouldn't miss it. Boy was I wrong. All my friends cars that I get into they all have sunroofs and I open every one of them!!! :)

Now came time to see if I could even afford this car. I told David that he shouldn't even bother running numbers because I obviously still owe on my 4 Runner and payments would be too much. He said, "well if you have great credit, let's just run the numbers, it won't hurt and see where we are at." I had no hopes at all of getting this car so I was just chilling out waiting to see what they would say. Well what do you know, my payments would actually be $30 cheaper a month. So then I said, "Well, my husband has to say it's okay and he is against me getting a car." They insisted that I drive it home (way far away from the dealership) and have him drive it and see how he likes it. So as I am driving off in this nice car that I am falling in love with by the second I call Morgan and tell him what's going on expecting for him to get mad. He didn't!!! He comes home, test drives it, I educate him on how it's going to save us tons of money in gas, the safety issues, etc. and he says, "Sweetie, if you want this car you can have it!" I almost fell over. Never expected him to say that because he has always told me, "YOU WILL NEVER DRIVE A CAR!!!"

So last night I went to bed and prayed about it. I prayed that I would have a clear view on if I should buy this car or not. Before I went to bed I read about 50 reviews of this car and 99% were great!! I couldn't go to sleep so about 0130 I finally got up and made a list of all my questions for David about the car. I then was able to fall asleep...

So today when I took the car back I was still undecided. I wanted to drive my 4 Runner again because I wasn't used to driving so low in the Honda. I got back in my 4 Runner and felt so weird. I felt like I was mammoth woman and I realized then I was much more comfy in the Honda and it was much smoother. So Honda Accord was my decision and David answered all of my questions! This entire process went so smooth and so quick!!

I know by this point you are thinking your evening will not be complete unless you see my new car...especially since you just read this looong, boring story of how I came to drive my new car so here are two pictures...

The front of the car...obviously, ha...they put the visor on the sunroof for free today after I sweet talked them into doing it. hehe!!

Here's the side view...highly recommend this car if anyone is thinking of buying one!!!! Of course, I have only owned it for a total of 4 hours now. But I am sure my opinion will still be the same in a couple of years from now!! Oh, and it's black on black. About everyone that sees it has a first reaction of, "wow, it's pretty." Then the second reaction, "Black? With Lillie?" Yes I say!! Let's just say I will be living with a lint roller brush in my car from here on out!
So all in all, I am so thankful that God has blessed Morgan and myself with this new car and he gave me the clear vision that yes, this was the car for me compared to my 4 Runner!!

Random Thoughts of the Day

My friend posted this on facebook today and I was crying from laughing so hard so I thought I would share it with all of you. Sadly, I relate/agree with some of these...ENJOY!!

I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no Internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

There is a great need for sarcasm font.

Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the f was going on when I first saw it.I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone is laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.

The other night I hit a new low at an open bar. I had already hopped on highway blackout when, inevitably I had to find a bathroom. Eventually I decided it was probably on the other side of the bar so I tried to walk over there, but ran into a guy coming the other way. We played that, Both go left, Both go right game to no avail, so I finally put out my hand to guide myself past and that's is when I realized, yup, that's a mirror I just tried to walk through. And the guy on the other side is me. Even cats can recognize their own image.

How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

I love the sense of camaraderie when a n entire line of cars teams up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"

I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? While watching the Olympics, I find myself cheering equally for China and USA . No, I am not of Chinese descent, but I am fairly certain that when Chinese athletes don't win, they are executed.

I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

I think that if, years down the road when I'm trying to have a kid, I find out that I'm sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.

Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, hitting the G-spot, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my ass everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...

My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?

I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

The other night I ordered takeout, and when I looked in the bag, saw they had included four sets of plastic silverware. In other words, someone at the restaurant packed my order, took a second to think about it, and then estimate d that there must be at least four people eating to require such a large amount of food. Too bad I was eating by myself. There's nothing like being made to feel like a fat bastard before dinner.

BABIES!!!!!

My two friends that I have known the looongest in my life delivered their baby boys a day apart back in July! WOW! This would be Holli and Stacey. Stacey was in our wedding and Holli was my Matron of Honor. Originally Stacey was scheduled to deliver the same day as Holli, but they moved her up a day earlier. How cool would that have been if they delivered on the same day?!? Anyway, sweet Stacey delivered where I work and thank God (literally), I was there that day!!! Now I must say, most of the time my job becomes a repetitive thing...get up, go to work, help moms recover and teach them about "baby" things, etc. I would never say it's boring. We are so busy and it's fun! It's just usually the same thing, to a point because after all, every patient is different. But when Stacey was there that day it was so exciting. We have a monitor up stairs on our floor (L&D is right below us) and we can watch the women progress. Now I will be honest, in the year and a half I have worked there, I barely even glanced at the monitor. With Stacey there delivering, I couldn't take my eyes off of it and towards the end all of us nurses were gathered around it like we were watching a movie or something. It was so neat to see when she was pushing!! I felt like I was down stairs with her, even though I wasn't. I went to lunch with Stacey and Cole last week and I snapped this picture of them. Aren't they precious? I think so!!!

Then the next day, I went to see Holli and Wyatt. I didn't get a picture of Wyatt. I guess because I was too busy holding him. :) He's such a sweet boy!! I did get a picture of Tatum. She's such a sweet girl. She was our flower girl and did a PERFECT job!! Tatum is such a great big sister! She has her own baby doll that she feeds and has Holli help change her diaper. It's the sweetest thing. I asked Tatum if her baby doll had a name and she said, "No." I told her she should name it "Laura." HaHa!! We were sitting on the couch together and she just turned her head to look at me and gave me this sweet little smile. She was probably really thinking, "Yeah, right!" :) Then later this girl name, Isabella, came on TV so I told her she could name the baby doll, "Isabella." Actually, Tatum will probably continue to call her baby doll, "Him, " even though it's a girl. I just LOVE kids!!!! Anyway, so here's a picture of Tatum...the sweetest little girl on earth!

Always...Sometimes...Never

I always...

tell Morgan I love him when one of us leaves the house.
brush my teeth as soon as I get out of bed.
take a shower every day.
go at least 5-10 miles over the speed limit...if not more.
am in bed by 9 pm...even if I don't work the next day.
have to watch TV before I go to bed.
get pedicures instead of attempting to do it myself.
am on time...have never been late to work.
talk to Lillie like she's my sweet pea.
wear flip flops...even during the winter.
HATE the drive home from work!!!
drink my H2O with Crystal Light Fruit Punch flavoring.
prefer text/email compared to an actual phone conversation...I know, that's sad!

I sometimes...

over think things.
take naps during the day.
laugh too loud.
take things too seriously.
actually work out when I say I am going to work out.
wish I could get on a plane and fly to Mexico for a spur of the moment vacation.
buy too many lotions/perfumes from Bath & Body Works.
actually answer the phone when someone calls me.
sing like I am a good singer...ha!

I never...

like to drink beer.
(rarely) make the bed.
want to get out of our cozy bed and leave Morgan to go to work.
want to imagine life without Morgan or my family.
have a messy house...my brain can't function if it's messy.
have enough patience with other drivers...need to work on that!
can sleep an entire night without having to go to the bathroom at least once.
can stay mad at Morgan no matter how hard I try.

HOW ABOUT YOU?
(Inspired by Brittani and Cassie)

Carry Tops

My friend I went to high school with, Andrea, has two boys. With her last little boy she came up with an invention...carry tops. They are AWESOME!!! I want to buy all my friends one that are having babies. Let me think how to describe it...it's a cover that fits tight over the baby carrier. It's really great for the winter time when it's cold. Instead of tucking a blanket around the baby while walking in and out of your home, grocery store, mall, etc while it's freezing cold...you can wrap a blanket around your baby and then place the "carry top" on the baby carrier and it keeps the blanket from blowing away and also protects your baby from the harsh freezing wind. It's also good for the spring and summer time when it's raining. Just put the "carry top" over the baby carrier and your baby will stay dry. It's also good to protect your baby from all of those random people...aka complete strangers...that like to walk up and get in your baby's face to have a good look at him/her. If you are interested in buying one or just to see what they are go to...
http://www.carrytops.com/. You will not regret it!!! When Morgan and I have our sweet peas we are definitely going to buy one.

Books!!

Within the past few years one of my best friends, Stacey, has really gotten me into reading. She probably has no clue how much she has inspired me. She is so smart about things and really educates herself on so many topics. Most of the books I have read are those that she has recommended me to read. No, not all of them are for educational purposes and some are just purely fun reads. I love the Shopaholic Series, Dean Koontz mystery books, Love As A Way of Life by Gary Chapman, Joel Olsteen, Five Love Languages, alllll of Joyce Meyer's books, The Purpose Driven Life, Sandra Brown Books, Skinny Bitch...which DO NOT read if you want to continue eating meat the rest of your life. BUT, my two absolute favorite books that I want EVERYONE who reads my blog...those I do know and those that just accidentally stumble onto this blog and actually read any of it...to read two books in particular. The first book I want everyone to read is...

Stacey is the one that got me to read this book. I wasn't so sure about it first but she raved about it and so I caved. It is my second favorite book ever!!!!!! I could hardly put it down and read it super fast. I went into this book thinking it was a true story and that's still how I want to believe it. I have recently found out that it's just fiction, but then I read other places that it's true. Who knows!! You can go read about it on the Internet site. I want to tell y'all everything about this book but don't want to give anything away. Let me just say it talks about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I bought a copy for my parents and insisted that they read it. Then my friend Lydia asked me if she could borrow a couple of books because they were driving to Destin, Florida and needed something to read. So I searched my house frantically trying to find it to only remember that I had borrowed Stacey's book. So I immediately went to Target and bought it. I plan on reading it over and over. I gave it to Lydia and I can't wait to hear what she thinks about it. If any of y'all want to borrow it, you can!!! But I bet you'll want your own copy by the time you're done. :)

The second book that I highly recommend is Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall & Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent. My parents tried to get me to read this book a couple of years ago but it just didn't sound interesting to me at all. I told them I would read it later...which later did eventually come which honestly when I said it, had no intentions of ever reading it. Anyway, two of my friends, Stacey and Christy...as well as many others I have recently found out on facebook, have read this book and couldn't put it down! So I asked my parents if I could borrow the book to read. Why on earth has it taken me this long to read this book? It's the BEST book I have ever read in my entire life!!! Stacey told me to get ready to cry a lot and I didn't really believe her because I don't hardly cry. Let's just say that Morgan thinks I am a nut half the time because I am crying and laughing at the same time. I have fallen in love with this book and the people in it. It's based on a true story about a rich white man and a black homeless man who become friends. It is their stories of their lives and how they became to call each other "friend." After you read it you will see why I say, "Everyone on this planet needs a friend like Denver." I actually have come across Ron...the rich white man...many times in my life and never knew what a great man I was encountering until recently. For 5 years I worked at Kincaid's in Fort Worth. The original Kincaid's off Camp Bowie. It's a famous hamburger place and here within the past couple of years they have grown to several stores. Kincaid's is the type of place where you see the same people all the time. Some people come EVERY Saturday like they are religiously going to church. I loved it there with the atmosphere and really getting to know our customers. Ron was a man that came there frequently. When I began reading this book I knew his name sounded familiar and then I stumbled upon a picture in the back of the book of him and Denver and I thought, "I know Ron! HE came to Kincaid's all the time." So that has made this book even more exciting for me to read!!!

My point of this blog is that I want EVERYONE to go buy these two books!!! I feel like you lives will be richly blessed by reading them. My friend's blog has so many posts about different things and fun things she finds on the Internet. So I decided to post about these books because I figured it would be a good way to reach out to many of y'all at one time!!! Enjoy, and if you do read these books, let me know how much you love them...or hate them...either way I would love to hear all about it!!!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy to Me!!!

We all know I am a firecracker baby...which I am sure explains a lot about my personality. haha! I turned a big 32!!! For some reason last year I didn't really like turning 31 and it really bothered me. But this last year I heard someone saying how we should be grateful to be one year older and still alive to experience things on this earth. So this year, I looked at it completely different. I embraced my birthday and had a wonderful day...wait, weekend. Since my birthday was on a Saturday this year I decided to make it a weekend event. Poor Morgan. :) We had such a great time. I wish every weekend could be just this good. Friday night Morgan's family took me out to eat...my choice. Where to go? Where to go? I decided Chuy's. Most of us had been there and we all loved it so that's where we went. So good!!! Birthday's have always been big in our family. We celebrate every one's birthday and I am thankful to have married into a family that shares the same view. So everyone came and we had fun. Nannie made her best chocolate cake and between that and the sopapillas our sweet waitress gave us, I was stuffed. My father in law said that he's pretty sure we all gained at least a good 2 pounds. I loooove pictures so here's a ton of them...
If you've never eaten here, you must put it on your to do list!!!!!! So Yummy!!!
The Family...she never told us when she was taking the picture which explains some facial expressions.

I didn't like any of the pics others took of us so we took our own. Me & My Sweet Thang!

Howard & Becky...we couldn't ask for a better aunt & uncle. They are so good to us!!!

Enjoying some nice cold Margaritas in the TEXAS heat!!! Love this picture of them.

Robert, my father in law, sportin' the pink Rose Davin stuck in his pocket...now that's a MAN!

Me and my M&Ms...they are also so good to me!!! Couldn't ask for a better brother in law.
On Saturday I woke up to the sweetest Birthday card from Morgan. We had gotten my gift on Friday!!! He's such a romantic and thoughtful husband. We then went down to Fort Worth to have lunch with my parents and my brother. My nephew had a swim party to go to so he and my sister in law weren't there. Which I can't blame him. If I was 12 years old I would rather go to a swim party than go to my aunt's birthday lunch. :) We ate soooooooo good!!! Once again, my mother ordered my birthday cake just like the one last year because that's how much we all love it!!! Plus, the Airhart Crew was wanting some more of it and I think it's safe to say we're addicted to this cake. Although on the way home I got a bad headache because I am sure my sugar level spiked off the charts while eating it and then soon plummeted...which equals headache. But it soon went away.
My parents, my brother and Me!

Making a Wish.........hopefully it comes true!!!!!!!! :)

Lille Bear always gets me a birthday card. This is the card she got me this year and it cracked me up so I had to get her picture with it.

Saturday night we went down to his Nannie's and did our own fireworks. We also can see the fireworks all over the place but we get to see the ones that go off near McKinney and avoid the traffic...yay!!! That's a bonus to the country life is all of this open land. To go to and from anywhere we have to drive past a fireworks stand. I told Morgan that I wanted to get some Sparklers. So he stops, gets out, and then heads back to the car with a load of fireworks. Kinda made me nervous. But it all went well and no limbs were blown off in the process. He surprised me with my very own fireworks display...24 of them so it was so nice. I got my blanket out and laid down on the gravel road and watched the fireworks. They were so beautiful up close like that. After Morgan's fireworks show for me we sat in the bed of the truck and watched all of the other fireworks going off all around us. It was a great BiRtHdAy!!!

...because standing there holding a Sparkler for a picture would be just WAY to boring! HAHA!

One of the many fireworks Morgan did for me...GREEN...my favorite color!!!

...and another firework...RED...it's actually my favorite color of fireworks!!!!

This is my approval of the beautiful fireworks display Morgan did for my birthday!!!

This is how us country folk watch the fireworks...in the bed of a pickup truck!!! Life couldn't be any better at this very moment!!!

Here's the Card...

Yesterday Morgan and I went down to Fort Worth and then to Mineral Wells to have dinner with the family. My mom's side of the family gets together every Friday night for dinner. When I was single, I tried to go as much as possible. Now that I am married and live quite some distance away, I haven't gone. So we finally made the trip last night and I enjoyed it so much. I've missed those dinners. I was also so excited that one of my cousin's (who is more like a sister) and her hubby made it. Anyway, I was finally able to get the Father's Day Card from my dad that I said I would post. It's got to be the best Father's Day Card for him. Once my brother and I got the same father's day card for my dad. Really? Out of allllllllll of the cards out there, we got the same one for him. haha! Wish I could have been the one to get this card for my dad. ;)

HE GOT ALL KINDS OF JOBS-FIXING YOUR BIKE, KILLING BUGS,
CHECKING FOR MONSTERS UNDER THE BED SO YOU COULD SLEEP.
HE HELPED YOU MOVE, CHECKED YOUR OIL, SLIPPED YOU
EXTRA CASH WHEN YOU WERE BROKE. THE REWARDS WEREN'T
BIG, BUT HE DIDN'T CARE. IT WAS ENOUGH FOR HIM TO WATCH
YOU GROW, HEAR YOU LAUGH, KNOW THAT YOU WERE SAFE
AND HAPPY AND WOULD GROW UP TO BE REASONABLY CONTENT.
AND WITHOUT EVER EXCHANGING A WORD ON THE SUBJECT, HE TAUGHT
YOU ALL ABOUT LOVE-HOW IT'S VERY OFTEN IN THE LITTLE
THINGS. THAT IT MAKES A WHOLE LIFETIME OF DIFFERENCE
TO A CHILD. THAT HE'S ALWAYS BEEN THERE, THIS UNSUNG
AND UTTERLY DEVOTED MAN, YOUR ONE AND ONLY DAD.
THERE'S SIMPLY NO WAY TO COUNT THE WAYS YOU'VE CARED,
THE TIMES YOU'VE BEEN THERE. HOW LUCKY FOR ME
TO HAVE A DAD LIKE YOU.

It's like this card was written for my dad.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

I have to work tomorrow so I won't get to see my dad. I must say, I really need to start paying more attention when I sign up for my schedule. So in case you read this tomorrow dad...and hopefully not tonight...hope you have a great Father's Day!!! Thanks for being the loving, supportive father you have always been. I hear my friends talk about some of their dad's and they are not as fortunate to have such wonderful dads. I feel so blessed to have you and all you do for Morgan and Me. Even Becky wants to adopt you as her dad! :)You are such a strong man and you're always so friendly and have never met a stranger. I need to quote the Father's Day Card Brian gave you this year because it was perfect! I'll get it from you some day and post it on here for all to see! We love you and want you to know you are greatly appreciated. Lillie Bear loves you too and after all, you are her favorite...even though you went to the truck the day I got her. haha! Good Bye Jill

Our sweet Jill has decided she wants a change of "nursing" in her life so she's leaving us. :( I love her and she's so sweet and fun to be around. I know I will still see her and hangout with her, but she was also a good nurse to work with!!! She will be missed. Some of us went out last night for her good bye dinner so here are some pictures...

Our beautiful Jill. I don't think she could ever take a bad picture. I tried to make her but she wouldn't do it. haha!
Okay, I look a little goofy in this picture because someone just grabbed my booty!

Jill, Me, Lydia, and Amy
Looooove these girls!!! They are the best and make me smile!

Sarah, Courtney, Michelle, and Jill...I think a couple of these girls need to be introduced to sunscreen. :)

Amy & Sarah...such pretty girls!!!

My bud, Lydia. We some how managed to get in trouble with Rob and Morgan and we have no clue what we did wrong. Actually, we might have some idea but we disagree with them. Oh well, we still had fun!!!

I am fine!!!

Okay, so apparently after yesterday's blog I have some people worried about me. No, I am not about to go jump off a cliff or anything. I was just having one of those days yesterday. It's something that's always in the back of my mind, until yesterday and I just broke down. All is good today. Like my friend Lydia said, we know too much and that scares us. Working in post partum we see everything from the good to the bad. Sometimes I wish I could be oblivious to everything and not have all the knowledge I have to scare myself!!! I worked today and as you know, I love the girls I work with!!!! A girl I work with was saying she doesn't know if she wants children and if she does, it won't be for at least 10 years. The girls who have children were making us smile listing all the things we can do because we don't children like vacations, sleep, etc. Don't get me wrong, I want nothing more than to have a child, but I feel much much much better today. I took care of 6 patients today and all of them were in there 30's. I'd say 90% of our population is over 30. So I took a deep breath and realized that Morgan and I have PLENTY of time to have sweet babies. What's the rush? Don't get me wrong, if my pregnancy test showed 2 pink lines tomorrow I would be the happiest girl on earth. But until then, I will just enjoy my one on one time with Morgan because it is something we will never get back...or at least not for 18 years. hehe! Plus, this will give us more time to continue to save money. Little ones are soooo expensive! It's amazing how much one little person needs and how much a little person can cost. I know, so worth it though and I can't wait for the day until I get to pour my heart and soul into caring for one. So until then, I will enjoy all my time with Morgan, our dinner dates, vacations, our spur of the moment adventures, sleeping in on my days off, and anything else I feel like doing in that moment. :)

Poem

I debated if I should share this with everyone. What I am going through today is personal for me. Today has been a very difficult day for me. I have practically cried all day long off and on. I am not one that cries, but I broke down today. (I'm okay Mom and Dad. :))Probably haven't cried this hard in over 3 years. Morgan and I are finally to the point where we want to start trying to have a child. Morgan was ready from the day we got married, but I wanted to wait a year. It's been a year now so I am ready. I am terrified that we will not be able to get pregnant for several reasons. I have always felt like if God wants us to have children, we will. My biggest fear in life has always been that I will not be able to get pregnant. I think Satin is really playing on that fear of mine today. I know God's timing is perfect. It always has been for my life. God has never let me down. Has He always given me everything I have asked for? No. But in hind sight, that was the best thing for me. He's always guided my life and I have always leaned on Him and searched for His guidance. So why am I so worried now? May it be tomorrow or several years from now, I hope and pray that when God's timing is right for us, we will be blessed with a child. God sees the entire picture for us and wants to protect us. The hardest thing for me is that I think about my parents and Morgan's parents. I want them and our children to really know each other. My mom's mom died a year before I was born and I feel like I missed out on such a great woman. Three of Morgan's grandparents died when he was really young so he never really knew them. I just don't want any of this to happen for our children. Morgan and I are both blessed to have such wonderful parents and the thought of our children never having the chance to really get to know them, breaks my heart. I know this is personal to put on a blog, but I know a lot of our family and friends read this. Please keep us in your prayers that we will understand God's will for our lives be it that we have 5 kids, or no kids. My friend Leigh Taylor sent me this poem today and I found it very inspirational and I hope you do too. I feel so blessed that God has surrounded us with family and friends that know how to lift us up in our time of need and despair.

Desperately, helplessly, longingly I cried.
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
and the Master so gently said, Child you must wait.
""Wait? You say, 'wait'! my indignant reply."
Lord I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked and am claiming your word.
My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance and YOU tell me to WAIT?
I'm needing a 'yes' and a go ahead sign,
or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
And Lord, You promised that if we believe
We need but to ask and we shall receive.
And Lord I've been asking and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!
Then quietly, softly I learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again 'you must wait'.
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
And grumbled to God, "so I'm waiting....for what?"
He seemed then to kneel and His eyes wept with mine
And He tenderly said 'I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run
All you seek I could give and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint;
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint;
You'd not learn to see through the clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there;
You'd not know the joy of resting in me
When darkness and silence were all you could see.
You'd never experience the fullness of love
As the peace of my Spirit descends like a dove;
You'd know that I give and I save for a start
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,
The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked,
Of an infinite God who makes what you have LAST
You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dreams for your loved one overnight would come true,
But oh, the loss, if I lost what I'm doing in you!
So be silent, My child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
And though oft' it may My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still, WAIT.

Lillie & GiGi

Yesterday a friend that Morgan has grown up with got married. Luckily, I didn't know them too well. I say this because yesterday morning I wasn't feeling so good. I didn't say anything to Morgan because I knew he really wanted me to go with him. If I had told him how I felt, he would've told me to stay home. So we drove 2 1/2 hours to Oklahoma for the wedding. It finally hit me right before the bride walked down the aisle. I then spent the remainder of the wedding in the bathroom sick. I actually passed the bride on the way out and told her she looked really pretty...beautiful girl with the prettiest eyes I have ever seen. Wait, no, I didn't literally pass her while she was walking down the aisle. She was still in the back about to walk down. We left right when it was over so I didn't even get to enjoy the reception. Blah! It was at Beavers Bend State Park which I was really excited about seeing. The little I saw was beautiful. We're hoping to all go up there as a family and camp. Matt, Morgan's brother, was camping up there for the weekend. His wife, Melissa, was in Florida so that meant we got to dog sit GiGi. She's a sweet dog but she has issues. Not sure if she was beat as a puppy because she always cowards down when you go to pet her and she whimpers. She cries if everyone is not in the same room together. Lillie and GiGi are best buds so I am sure Lillie was excited to have her spend the night. Here are some pictures...

The calm before the storm. Lille resting quietly in her bed before GiGi arrived to spend the night.

GiGi is a weird dog. Likes to sit by the door. Doesn't matter whose house she is at, this is what she does. Lillie is trying to be sweet and make her feel welcome in our house. :)

Lillie trying to figure out what on earth GiGi is doing...she had no idea that this was possible and something she could do. Where is GiGi?

GiGi is under our bed. I guess that's where she feels the safest. We were going to let her sleep under there but when we turned the lights off, she thought that meant play time and she could run around like a wild dog. To the living room she went. She woke us up at 0700 today. ugh! So glad Lillie takes after her mama and likes to sleep in because there is no way I could handle this every day.

Best Friends!!! They love each other.

Picnik

Howdy! Just want to let y'all know about picnik...could I sound anymore "hickish" in that statement?! HAHAHA! Ever since I have been with Morgan I have noticed that I am talking with more of an accent. I LOVE his accent. It's so adorable. Anyway, onto the purpose of this post...there is an Internet site called http://www.picnik.com/ . It's great. You can do all sorts of things with your pictures. For example, this picture above I flipped it, changed the color and added a colorful border. The picture below I cropped it, added two different types of borders and text. They also have symbols you can add. Two of my friends introduced me to it a while back and I love it. Be careful, it can get addicting. Go have fun!!!

Busy Weekend!

This past weekend was sooo busy for me!!! It's funny how I can go weeks without anything planned and then bam, everything is on the same weekend. I didn't even get to go to everything I wanted to because it just wasn't possible. It's funny how life works like that sometimes. I worked Thursday and Friday so I was pretty tired. Work has been insanely, but thankfully, really busy for a while now. Tons of sweet babies being born. That usually means I will be really tired on my day off and will rest, not do too much. Not the case this time. Saturday we celebrated with my parents Mother's Day and Father's Day. This was down in Fort Worth where they live. Then I had to come back home and pick Morgan up and head out dancing in Dallas with a few girls and their men from work. We had a lot of fun. I hadn't been dancing in so long and I love to dance!!! I got a new camera that has a different flash that Morgan is apparently not used to because in alllllllll the pictures his eyes are half shut, ugh! He's going to have to work on that because I am not going to have all of our pictures having his eyes half shut. So here are a few pictures of our night out dancing...

Morgan and me...with his eyes half shut. Bless his heart, he tried but just couldn't keep those suckers open.

This is my girl Lydia and her husband. I love this girl!!! Our birthdays are three days apart so we get a long quite well!!! She is always upbeat and smiling. She's such a positive and fun person to be around. Her hubby's name is Rob. They have been married for 20 years...they got married really young. :) I told Lydia that I hope Morgan and I are still that happy and in love when we've been married for 20 years. You can really tell that they absolutely adore each other. We're planning on going to float the river in late July/August and I am so excited!!!

Lydia...one of my favorite people in this whole wide world!!!

This is my friend, Courtney. This girl can make me laugh alllllll day long!!!!! She is also always happy and in a good mood! I just love her, too! She had her cute cowboy hat on so I stole Morgan's for this picture.

We were trying to get a picture of the four girls but it was a struggle. Rob was just snappin' away, never really waiting for us to pose. But I do love this picture of the four of us. It just sums up our fun night!

On Sunday afternoon I went to Stacey's baby shower. I'm soooooooooooo excited to meet baby Cole!!! Stacey was precious, as always. Stacey and I have the same OB. Our OB told Stacey that she's practically the only patient she has that comes in dressed all cute and stylish while most come in wearing t-shirts. Our OB told me that Stacey is an "edgy" dresser...which she is. Even due in 5 weeks, she dresses stylish and fashionable. I hope I am some what like her when I am pregnant. :)

This is Stacey, Christy, and Me. The three of us try and get together frequently for lunch or pedicures. We, plus Polly and her hubby, are trying to get together for a dinner at Joe T Garcia's in Fort Worth. Sitting out on the patio, sippin' a nice cold beverage with some wonderful friends is a perfect evening for me. I love these girls!!!

A girl we went to high school with made this cake. Stacey's theme for her baby shower was Texas Tech because that's where her and Chad graduated from. It was so cute and Mindy did an excellent job. She also did my bachelorette cake which was fantastic!!! Her cakes are not only cute, but taste so delicious. If you need a cake for an event, contact me and I will hook you up with her. You will not regret it.
This is a picture of my bachelorette cake. We put sparklers in a certain area...hehe...and that's what I blew out. So fun!!!

This was made out of diapers and I love how Cole's name is on it. Some people are so creative!! Our friend Polly did it. Polly also did the invitations for Stacey's baby shower and my bachelorette party. I wish I could post those on here because they are the cutest I have ever seen. She draws them by hand and it's done around a picture of our face. Sooooo cute!!!

After the shower, I went to dinner with some of my other friends. I was tired but I would do anything to see the girls. We've been friends for so long and it's always good to catch up with them. We try to get together every other month and so far, so good!!! We're getting together in July for a couple of our birthdays. I feel so blessed to have all of these girls in my life!!!

Leslie (LC), Eeeesttthhhhhhher (esther), Veronica (VO) and Me (forla)...these are our nicknames for each other.

Stacey & Cole

Some of y'all know Stacey. She was in our wedding and she's in some of the other posts on here. She is due the first of July and we're hoping Cole comes on my birthday. That would be awesome!!! I have been super excited about Stacey being pregnant. I've seen her belly grow over the past 7 months and I think it's absolutely precious!!! She's got to be one of the cutest pregnant women I have ever seen. She's alllllllll belly. She's been blessed with a healthy pregnancy. She didn't even have morning sickness, lucky girl!!! The best part of it all, she is delivering where I work and we are both hoping and praying that I will be working the day she delivers so I will be able to take care of her. I'd love to be able to share that moment with one of my best friends. Love you Stacey and I can't wait to meet sweet baby Cole. He's going to be one blessed baby to have you and Chad as parents. I already love the little guy and he's not even born.

Layla, oh Layla what have you done?!

As I have mentioned before, we have a cat that has adopted us. We finally agreed upon a name, Layla. Actually, I just named her Layla and Morgan still calls her "the cat." I love the name Layla, but Morgan doesn't really like it for a child's name. That's why I named an animal, Layla. Anyway, Lillie and I have a routine on the days I am not working. Around 5pm, I get Layla's food down from the cabinet. This is when Lillie Bear goes sprinting towards the back door. We always go outside to feed Layla and then come back in and Lillie gets fed. I guess Lillie figures the quicker she gets outside, the quicker she gets back in and gets fed. Well the other day we went out to feed Layla and she was no where to be found. Layla is ALWAYS outside waiting for us. She's usually standing at the back door. I was kind of sad, hoping nothing had happened to her. She's always been a reallllllly sweet cat. Likes to get in the hammock with us and cuddle. Always rubbing on our feet and legs. I called her name a few times and finally gave up and went back inside. Morgan finally comes home and I asked him if he saw Layla when he pulled up and he said he hadn't. We then went to dinner and came back home. Still no Layla. I was sad at this point. So I go inside and start watching TV. Morgan's outside doing something with his truck and he comes back inside and grabs me and pulls me outside. He said, "I think I know why 'the cat' wasn't around to get fed today." I was freaking out and I jerked away from him and said, "If she's dead, I don't want to see it." He starts laughing and forces me to keep walking. I saw her just laying there in the driveway. I jerked away from him again and tears filled my eyes and I said, "Is she dead?" Layla NEVER just lays there when she sees us. Morgan, once again, starts laughing at me. What was the deal? Why was she just laying there? She was guarding the rabbit she killed. No, it was a HEADLESS rabbit. So grossssssssssssssssss!!!! Every time I think I have got this country livin' lifestyle down, something else happens to make me realize I don't. I'm sure she kills a lot of bad things like field mice, snakes, etc. She brought home a huge lizard the other day. I sure hope this isn't going to be a trend for her to bring gifts to our house. Not sure I can handle it. The sad thing is, I have only seen two rabbits around our house. I named them Tom and Jerry. Morgan was laughing trying to guess which one she killed, Tom or Jerry. I didn't find it very funny at all!!! So here's a picture of our adventurous Layla eating her prize...barf!!!
